A Fly Fishing Club in Central London for those that love fly fishing, enjoy the outdoors but don't always have the opportunity to escape. WFFC.

Start Fly Fishing

Ever picked up a rod or seen others doing it and fancied fly fishing? If you are a beginner, Andrew Hathaway will provide all teaching and guiding experiences so that you understand the water and the techniques that will allow you to catch on the reservoirs. However, if like me you found an old rod and reel in the shed or inherited one and fancy going out on your own, WFFC members will be on the water most days so please don't hesitate to ask for advice.

Reservoirs 4 & 5 have now reopened for both season ticket and day ticket holders. Note: No fishing on West bank between 10.30am & 5.00PM

Great news everyone, the reservoirs have now fully re-opened to both season ticket and day ticket holders. Unfortunately, to encourage social distancing there will be no fishing permitted on the West banks of 4 & 5 as priority has been given to walkers within the Wetlands. We understand that this means that fishing can be difficult, particularly as the prevailing wind comes from this direction and hope that fishing can resume in due course.

For those that have made it out to the reservoirs the fishing has been intermittent. Classic 'Stow', its feast or famine with high numbers recorded one day and and anglers struggling the next. Keep at it though, particularly to the end of the day as fish have been showing on the surface late on and the views have been epic. red & black buzzers on a floating line or boobies fished deep on a DI 7 have been the successful methods lately.

Any budding journalists out there?

Unfortunately due to work and family commitments we have struggled to produce  our popular newsletter over the past two seasons.  All of the content is on the website but we appreciate that people like these small magazines. We need someone that can collate all of the info from the website  and produce the newsletter twice a year. If there are any members out there that would like to take on this role please contact us at wffccomms@gmail.com.
